 Education, Experience And Skills
  • Professional attitude and strong ethics a must.
  • 3 -5 years of experience in environmental, health & safety positions.
  • Experience in the petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, refineries or related industry.
  • Experience as a Safety lead or in an independent type of role is highly desirable.
  • Experience with implementing procedures and training. Experience in establishing integrated plans with resource and task constraints.
  • Formal Project Management training is desireable.
  • Educational background in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental or Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Sciences or related field.
  • Certification as a Safety, Health & Environmental Professional (SHEP) a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulations.
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting.
  • Experience with EHS compliance organizations such as PICs & ISNetworld is desired.
  • Experience with radiation protection is a plus.
  • Solid IT literacy skills, specifically with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Strong numeracy skills; capable of creating spreadsheets; tracking and compiling data and creating reports.
  • Must possess strong communication skills. Able to conduct effective presentations (including monthly safety meetings and training presentations) to management and staff alike.
  • Must possess strong leadership skills. Self-motivated individual. Must exhibit a proactive attitude and be able to work independently in a highly efficient manner.
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. High sense of accountability and urgency. Resolves issues effectively and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills. Individual must be able to build strong relationships across diverse groups and participate effectively on cross-functional teams. Motivates cross-functional team to work together in the most efficient manner.
  • Must be prepared to travel throughout the USA and Canada. Up to 25% travel requirement estimated.
